LUCK?
Nah! That’s what I keep saying when I hear people say he/she
was lucky, lucky to get that job, car, promotion, admission… I say nah; you
don’t get lucky without effort.
Loads of people (at least the ones I know, your friends
could be from Mars) believe good things occur to people out of the blue, and so
it might seem when you observe these occurrences from a distance but experience
and a little research has cemented my initial believe that things don’t just
happen, they happen for a reason, or a series of reasons, a healthy chunk of
those reasons are from self-made efforts.
I think it’s simple, that dude that works in that oil
company and earns millions annually must have done something that got him
there, it could be prayers, his/her 2.1/first class degree, a second degree,
professional qualifications … or just plain being at the right place at the
right time, and it can be as simple as that. The question now is, are you
involved, engaged in those necessary actions/efforts that will get you to where
you would like to be? Where other people will look at you and say he was lucky?
My take is this; luck is when opportunity meets preparation…
it’s that simple for me.
Hello, my name is Ibrahim (in case you missed my profile)
and I intend to use this blog as an avenue to share my thoughts and experiences
on Job seeking techniques, vital characteristics one should (not must) have to
get good jobs, strategic advantage, setting realistic goals and achieving them
and loads of other topics, I would love to say this blog is primarily meant for
job seekers but entrepreneurs and employees will find interesting and
resourceful materials that will benefit them.
As you might have noticed, I don’t do conventional writing
(I am not a writer sef) and I don’t bother about rules and proper composition
of sentences, paragraphs and all that( I worry about that in the office) so if
you are looking for all that here is not the place for you, but if you are a
fan of free thinking, free styling and just thinking out loud write ups that
might benefit you(it’s actually not my responsibility, I type, you choose to
read and apply, your choice) then this where you should be weekly.
Final thoughts? Errrr….. Hard work increases your chances of
attracting luck. Someone must have said this before…
PEACE.
